Joy of a Toy has been founded in 1990 by Ger Limpens and Arie van Kooten. The aim is to support the poorest people in the rural areas of Zambia. In 2008 Joy of a Toy has become a foundation.
In the first years following 1990 we were sending food, medicines and blankets. Since the year 2000 our assistance has been intensified by some bigger donations from the churches of Schiedam-North and NCDO (a governmental organisation). With this money we started a project by building an orphanage, a school and a clinic. In the meantime this project has grown enormously.
