Joy of a Toy has been founded in 1990 by Ger Limpens and Arie van Kooten. The aim is to support the poorest people in the rural areas of Zambia. In the beginning we were sending food, medicines, blankets and other goods. Since the year 2000 our assistance has been intensified by some bigger donations. The churches of Schiedam-North have donated ƒ 45 000,- and NCDO (a governmental organisation) gave us ƒ 30 000,-. With this money we have build an orphanage, a school and a clinic.
